Behind the Scenes: Paths of Glory (1957)

Paths of Glory (Stanley Kubrick Archives)

Pictured Above: Director Stanley Kubrick (left) and actor Kirk Douglas (center) on the set of the 1957 war (or rather anti-war) epic Paths of Glory. The pair worked together again for 1960’s Spartacus. Continue on for more production stills from the film.

The pics come courtesy of Museum Syndicate, the Facebook page Stanley Kubrick Archives, Pandoraspot and the magnificent blog Cinephilia and Beyond. Cinephilia and Beyond also offers a PDF version of the script, co-written by the great pulp crime novelist Jim Thompson (The Getaway, The Grifters, The Killer Inside Me). You can find it here.
