Casablanca and Mystic River. Two movies separated by 60 years, both released by Warner Brothers and both nominated for Best Picture Oscars. And both with posters designed by Bill Gold.

Gold created movie art for pictures in eight different decades, including a longstanding collaboration with Clint Eastwood and a string of seminal 1960s/1970s films including Bonnie and Clyde, Deliverance and A Clockwork Orange.

For more about Gold’s work, check out this New York Times article in which Gold talks about the creation of a few of his iconic works or this 400-page opus on Gold’s career, Bill Gold: PosterWorks.

  1. Eight different decades is some achievement! I recognise many of his works but equally have never seen many of the others. I really like the Alien one and Deliverance. The Sting one reminds me of Willy Wonka somehow 🙂
