Movie Poster of the Day: Strangers on a Train (1951)

Strangers on a Train poster

Always the showman, Alfred Hitchcock engages in a bit of macabre wordplay in this promotional poster for his 1951 murder swap thriller Strangers on a Train. The film’s script was co-written by The Big Sleep pulp novelist Raymond Chandler.

Cool poster. I have fond memories of watching this about 14 years ago at this little indie cinema in Birmingham UK called The Electric. We watched the movie eating slices of cake and drinking tea 🙂

Cake at the movies? That may be the single greatest idea I have ever heard in my life. Most American theaters have $10 bags of popcorn and hot dogs not fit for human consumption.
