31 Days of Horror: Behind the Scenes of the films of John Carpenter

“In France, I’m an auteur. In Germany, I’m a filmmaker. In the UK, I’m a horror director. In the US, I’m a bum.” – John Carpenter

Deep Fried Movies takes a glance back at the 40-year career of director, writer and composer John Carpenter through this gallery of pics snapped on the legendary genre artist’s sets. These were culled from the far reaches of the internet, but a few sources are particularly worth mentioning – John Carpenter’s official website, the Thing-centric Outpost 31, The Escape From New York & LA Page and the website of photographer Kim Gottlieb-Walker. Gottlieb-Walker has a book titled On Set with John Carpenter coming out Oct. 21st from Titan Books featuring her work as unit stills photographer on many of Carpenter’s early-career classics.
